In 2000, the Women’s World Summit Foundation launched the World Day for Prevention of Child Abuse, which is commemorated every November 19^th. The objective of this day is to bring to light the issue of child abuse and the need for effective prevention programs.  

This year the Vanished Children's Alliance will team up with the Eastridge Mall in San Jose, CA to honor this special day locally by putting on a child wellness fair on Saturday, November 15, 2008 from 12:00pm - 4:00pm at the Mall in center court.  This event will allow multiple agencies who serve children and their families in the community to showcase the important and valuable services they offer free of charge.  Along with a wealth of information there will be safety demonstrations, free child fingerprinting and a free prize drawing.
